Welcome to PATHLOCK. These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the PATHLOCK mobile application ("App"), developed and operated by PATHLOCK ("Company," "we," "us," or "our"). By downloading, installing, or using the App on iOS or Android platforms, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

01Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using PATHLOCK, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not access or use the App. These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and PATHLOCK.

02Description of Service

PATHLOCK (also referred to as "Pathlock" within the game environment) is a multiplayer strategy game that combines classic chess elements with unique tactical mechanics. The Service includes:

  • Online matchmaking and ranked matches.
  • Casual gameplay with friends or AI-driven bots.
  • Customizable player avatars and cosmetic items.
  • Real-time multiplayer functionality.
  • Premium features and rewards accessible through a freemium model.

The App is provided for entertainment purposes only and is specifically intended for an adult audience. It is not intended for use by children.

03User Accounts & Registration

To access certain features, including ranked matches and saved progress, you may be required to create a user account. You agree to:

  • Provide accurate, current, and complete information during the registration process.
  • Maintain the security of your password and accept all risks of unauthorized access to your account.
  • Promptly notify us if you discover or suspect any security breaches related to the App or your account.
  • Acknowledge that you are solely responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.

We reserve the right to deny registration or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

04User Obligations & Acceptable Use

You agree that you will not:

  • Use the App for any illegal purpose or in violation of any local, state, national, or international law.
  • Engage in cheating, using "bots," hacking, or utilizing unauthorized third-party software to gain a competitive advantage.
  • Harass, abuse, or harm other players in multiplayer modes.
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the App.
  • Use the App to distribute unauthorized advertising or spam.
  • Impersonate any person or entity, including PATHLOCK employees.

05Intellectual Property Rights

All rights, title, and interest in and to the App (excluding user-generated content) are and will remain the exclusive property of PATHLOCK and its licensors. This includes but is not limited to:

  • The game mechanics, code, and software.
  • Graphics, artwork, animations, and user interface design.
  • Trademarks, logos, and brand names (e.g., PATHLOCK, Pathlock).

You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, and revocable license to use the App for personal, non-commercial entertainment purposes, subject to these Terms.

06Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability

Disclaimers

The App is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis. PATHLOCK disclaims all warranties, whether express or implied, including the implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, PATHLOCK shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data (including device information and financial information) resulting from:

  • Your use of or inability to use the App.
  • Any unauthorized access to or use of our servers.
  • The conduct of any third party on the Service.

07Subscriptions & Payments

PATHLOCK operates on a freemium model. While the App is free to download, certain cosmetic items, avatars, and premium features require in-app purchases.

  • Payments: All financial transactions are processed through third-party services, specifically react-native-purchases (RevenueCat) and the respective app store (Apple App Store or Google Play Store).
  • Subscriptions: If you opt for a subscription, it will automatically renew unless canceled through your platform's subscription management settings.
  • Refunds: All purchases are final and non-refundable, except as required by the terms of the platform provider (Apple or Google) or applicable law.
  • Virtual Goods: Items purchased within the game have no real-world monetary value and cannot be exchanged for "real world" money.

08Termination

We reserve the right, without notice and in our sole discretion, to terminate your license to use the App and to block or prevent your future access to the App if you violate these Terms. You may terminate these Terms at any time by deleting your account and removing the App from your devices. Upon termination, all licenses granted to you will immediately cease.

09Governing Law

These Terms and your use of the App shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which the Company is registered, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any legal action or proceeding related to these Terms shall be brought exclusively in the courts located within that jurisdiction.

10Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes in our services or for legal reasons. We will notify you of any material changes by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of these Terms and, where required, providing notice within the App. Your continued use of the App after the effective date of any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.

11Privacy & Analytics

Your use of the App is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains what data we collect and how we use it. By using the App, you consent to the collection and processing of device information, gameplay and usage data, and pseudonymous product-analytics events as described in the Privacy Policy. We use PostHog (hosted in the European Union) for product analytics, and Google Mobile Ads and RevenueCat for advertising and purchases. We do not sell your personal data. You may limit advertising personalization at any time through your device settings (iOS "Limit Ad Tracking" / Android "Opt out of Ads Personalization").
